1Gb DDR2 SO-DIMM laptop memory module with 200 pins. This module is rated to run at 533MHz (PC2-4200) at CL4. From A-Data and backed by a lifetime warranty.
This DDR2 533 SO-DIMM is designed to meet the 533MHz data-rate specification of the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard, but it seems to own the huge potentiality to draw out higher performance in A-DATA laboratories.
By 1.8V low-voltage application, DDR2 modules can reduce about 50% power consumption, which is compared with 2.5V (DDR) power supply on the same operation speed. So it is an environment-friendly product. In order to achieve so amazing high operation speed, A-DATA applies the lower parasitic-loading FBGA (Fine-pitch BGA) package to run in full-speed without extraneous loading.
Compared with DDR, DDR2 owns four key technologies pave the way to high-speed operation and low power consumption.
‧200-pin small outline DIMM
‧ Density:256MB / 512MB / 1GB / 2GB
‧ Maximum 3.2GB/s bandwidth
‧ JEDEC standard 1.8 +/- 0.1V power supply
‧ 32M x 16 or other component configuration
‧ CAS Latency:5
‧ 4 Bank
‧ Off-chip driver (OCD) impedance adjustment, and on die termination (ODT)

Chronic problem solved
fine chip; totally solved the 'mysterious missing memory' problem that seems to happen with random machines from a certain retailer who shall remain anonymous [but synonymous with Computer Planet]

Not exciting
Memory DIMMs must be the most boring thing there is to order. Still, as a £20 upgrade to a Dell Inspiron 1300 (which came originally with a whole, throbbing, magnificent 256MB of RAM, and ran slower than an arthritic snail) it's hard to beat. PC transformed for £20 and a minute's work. If only everything in life was so easy.
