Micro USB Master:
The RunCore SSD also supports a Master USB Bus. Master USB is not included but RunCore does offer users the ability to solder their own. Soldering the drive will void the current 2 year warranty.
Attention: Only Asus S101 users will be able to take advantage of the USB cloning feature.
Asus 900 and 900A users will not be able to utilize this feature, because the existing OS is set up for PATA not SATA bus, and will need a clean install of the OS. This upgrade is for customers who have previous experience in installing an OS or those who are willing to learn and want to do it for the first time.

This SSD is quite fast. It enhanced the whole performance of my EeePC900.
Its size and speed allow for systems like XP or Windows 7 to be installed. It has a convenient USB connector and comes with connecting cable. This facilitates pre-install arrangements to be made to the disk. It even has its own activity led.
The only less positive factor is the temperature which tends to be al little higher than with the original 16gb Phison SSD. However this is not a real problem.
Windows 7 reports a windows experience index disk index of 5,9.
I can really recommend this product.

I rediscovered the pleasure of using my Asus EEPC 901 which was terribly slow before upgrading. I encountered no problem to ghost Win XP OS from original 16 Gb SSD to my new Runcore 32 Gb SSD thanks to Acronis True Image Software. Very grateful product.

Made my Eee PC 900 and Eee PC 901 usable machines again. A great feature is the USB interface that allows easy drive clone and testing on the Eee PC itself.

Fast and Easy

I tried to do an install using the Acronis software (factory installed on the new Runcore) to ghost my original drive. It seemed to work; however, when I tried to open files and programs there were loads of "things" missing. I deleted the Acronis ghost image from the Runcore and tried a clean install from the Asus recovery disc. Bingo!!A fast and perfect copy of my Windows XP. It took me another couple of hours to reload programs that I wanted, without any historical artifacts.
My Asus 901 is a completely different machine. Everything downloads to the new Runcore which automatically became the C drive. It's very fast and, even although it's only 32 GB, I have loads of SSD space left over.
Before you remove your old SSD, make sure to load the latest BIOS (2103). Then remove the battery followed by the Phison 8GB SSD and replace it with the new Runcore (SATA only). Load the Runcore with the recovery disc from a dvd player and you're done.
I am a real noob and if I can do it, anyone can.

Easy Upgrade

This Runcore was reasonably priced and delivered within a week of ordering.
I upgraded my Asus 901 with this hard drive and noticed no performance issue. I previously had only a 4gb SSD and needed something bigger to upgrade to Windows 7. In order for the computer to see the SSD, it was neccessary to upgrade the bios at bootup. This is very important, otherwise you well think the SSD is broken.

32GB RunCore SATA 70mm Mini PCI-e PCIe SSD

Two installation problems fitting the board to my ASUS EeePC901:
a. the supplied screwdriver only fits the outer case cover screws but does not fit the screws which secure the board in place. Make sure you've got a set of watchmaker's straight slot miniature screwdrivers to hand before installing the board.
b. the end lip of the USB socket on the board allows virtually no clearance when fitting the board. Fortunately mine eventually went in but it was touch and go. The socket lip needs to be filed down to allow an easier fit.
Having said all that, the board has made a marked difference to the performance of my 901 transforming it from a snail to a virtual racehorse.
