The ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 Edition is the result of a new collaboration centered around EVA-02 and Asuka of the long-celebrated Evangelion anime series. After catching your eye with EVA-02’s signature red-and-orange theme and traces of green, the artistic flourishes keep coming: an AT Field design surrounds the CPU socket, and Polymo lighting on the I/O cover switches between Asuka and regular EVA-02. The backplate design showcases EVA-02 “The Beast” mode and Evangelion patterns, adding to the motherboard's visual appeal. And as an ROG Maximus motherboard, it offers all the power, cooling, and flexible features necessary to elevate performance to the next level.

VRM and aluminum I/O heatsink

A VRM heatsink on the MOSFETs and chokes is connected to the aluminum I/O cover via an embedded heatpipe to increase mass and surface area for dissipation.

M.2 heatsinks and backplates

Large aluminum heatsinks provide extensive surface area to cool mounted M.2 drives, and each of the three onboard slots has a dedicated backplate for additional heat dissipation.

Chipset heatsink

A dedicated heatsink draws heat away from the chipset to maintain optimum operating temperature.

Metal backplate

A metal plate spans the underside of the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 Edition, establishing a reinforced platform for smoother DIY PC building.

Personalization

Illuminating the I/O shroud of the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 Edition is a colorful microstructural array called Polymo Lighting. Two stylish patterns are available for builders to tinker with in Armoury Crate and sync up with the rest of their system for a brilliant display of individuality.
